Joan Carroll-Flowers, founder of Zulema Enterprises LLC, has more than four decades of experience developing marketing campaigns, specialized curriculum, and training programs. Through the years she has been a change agent, working with hundreds of major corporations, nonprofits, churches, community-based organizations, government agencies, and small businesses.
Prior to becoming a successful entrepreneur, she spent 22 years as an award-winning advertising professional in New York, creating new ideas and driving new initiatives. Over the years she has been the recipient of winning numerous accolades and awards.
Joan has become somewhat of a legend in her quest for advancing environmental and social justice in marginalized communities. In Cincinnati, she pioneered an award-winning "green business" methodology, which included a certification process to adapt sustainability processes. When her SEMS™ training was used by the local housing authority, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recognized the program as a "best practice."
In 2015, the City of Cincinnati presented Joan with a proclamation from the mayor and an award for improving the operational performance of more than 350 small enterprises in the area.
Since 2020, Joan has been a catalyst for initiating and encouraging innovative new ways of educating at-risk youth living and learning in marginalized communities. In Philadelphia, her student-centered programs have inspired youth to think at deeper levels and become actively engaged in problem solving.
So, if you’re looking for ways to help at-risk or unmotivated students to maximize their potential, Zulema Enterprises has options.
