Civic Engagement
Promoting civic education among teens and young adults is essential for America to sustain a democratic government. New forms of local civic networks are needed to educate and engage young people in democracy. We, The People Community and Civic Enrichment® is a unique program that combines adult "coaching" with youth-centered projects. Everything a school, church, agency, or nonprofit needs to help at-risk youth become responsible citizens is included in this Program Guidebook. Participants learn civic responsibility and how government works by having a voice in society. Ready-made projects engage young people in group discussion as they deep dive into social issues to solve problems they care about.
Green Business
High school and college students become SEMS™ Coaches to help community-based small business owners reduce their carbon footprint, while improving their operations. This career-focused program prepares young "interns" to perform specific consultancy functions that meet SEMS™ Green Business Certification standards. Each participant is given tools and tasks to transition local "mom and pop" businesses to use sustainability best practices.
